According to the description of this Wonderland Plate, a lone wolf marches across this oval porcelain plate leaving tracks in its wake. Created by ceramicist Élise Lefebvre for her Wonderland collection, the perfectly formed woodland creature seems to have partaken of Alice's infamous "Drink Me" shrinking elixir and ended up miniature sized.

Isn't it annoying when someone suddenly decides to change the theme of their birthday party a week before it starts? OK, we finally agreed of a cooking birthday party, based on the kids making all their breakfast, lunch and dinner. Sounds fun!

1st course is popcorn, with toffee or salt flavoring.

2nd is pizza from scratch

3rd is... guess what? Sundaes!!!

I'm so excited!

What we're planning is to have fruit and ice-cream in it, plain and yummy! I'll be happy to show you millions of photo's on the day, but right now - planning. We'll have taste-testing games and eating competitions.

Happy Halloween everyone! 

My sisters party is coming up, the theme as outdoor movies. As usual we're getting going with invitations early and having fun with decoration ideas, but I'll show you the actual party on the day (probably after). You can download some stuff off other websites like I did, and here they are. Eat drink chic, make sure you cut out the valentines bit 'cause it's meant for valentines day not movies. Have fun!

Best Chocolate Cake Ever

Ingredients

1 1/3 cups plain flour

1 tsp bicarbonate of soda

1/3 cup cocoa powder

1 cup caster sugar

1 cup buttermilk

2 eggs

125g melted butter

1 tsp vanilla essence

Icing

1 1/3 cups icing sugar

1 1/2 tbsp cocoa powder

20g butter, room temperature

Method

Preheat oven to 180. Lightly grease a 6 cm deep, 20cm round cake tin. Line base with baking paper.

Sift flour, bicarbonate of soda and cocoa powder in a large bowl. Stir in sugar. Combine buttermilk, eggs, melted butter and vanilla in a jug. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture. Pour in buttermilk mixture. Mix until light, creamy and smooth.
Pour mixture into the prepared cake tin, and bake for 40 to 45 minutes. Turn out onto a wire cooling rack and cool.
To make the chocolate icing sift icing sugar and cocoa powder in a bowl. Add butter and 1 tbsp of boiling water. Stir until smooth. Spread icing over cake. Top with blueberries. Allow icing to set. Slice and serve!
